More than 100 artists from around the country are anticipated in Rising Sun, Indiana, September 13 and 14, for the first annual Rising Sun Festival of Fine Arts & Crafts. This juried festival of exceptional fine art and fine crafts, jewelry, handcrafted furniture and musical instruments will be held in Rising Sun’s historic Main Street District along the Ohio River. The Festival is planned for 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13, and Sunday, September 14. There is no admission fee and parking will be free on the streets, and in businesses and lots throughout the city. Currently more than 150 artists from around the country have applied for acceptance into the Festival. The jury will meet to make final selections later in May. In addition to fine art and crafts, the Festival will feature three Indiana wineries: Carousel Winery from Bedford, Buck Creek Winery from Indianapolis, and Thomas Family Winery from Madison. Jamon Zeiler, a Rising Sun musician and master guitar-builder, is arranging for six different acts to provide music during the Festival weekend. Food will be provided by Caleco Gourmet Concessions. For more information on the Festival, visit www.risingsunartfestival.org or call 513-379-7169. Directions to Rising Sun are on the Web site. ###
