Ecology Action will be holding a Three-Day GROW BIOINTENSIVE Sustainable Mini-Farming Workshop in Willits, CA on
NovemberFebruary 27-March 7-9,1, 2008.2009. This will be an opportunity for in-depth learning of GROW BIOINTENSIVE philosophy and techniques that have been developed by the Ecology Action staff over a
36-year37-year period.
The workshop consists of lectures, discussion, and demonstration, including a full range of information on: Soil Preparation, Sustainable Soil Fertility, Fertilization, Compost, Compost Crops, Efficient Resource Use, Crops for Full Nutrition, and Crops for Income--as well as the perspective and whole-system approach which tie these topics together. Presenters are John Jeavons, Director of Ecology Action and author of the best-selling book How to Grow More Vegetables (now in its 7th edition and translated into seven languages, including Braille), and Carol Cox, a development professional for over 20 years, who is Ecology Action's Garden Research Manager and co-author of The Sustainable Vegetable Garden. This workshop is a unique opportunity to network with and learn from others who have an interest in sustainable food-raising and living.
The workshop cost is $350 if registration is received by
