A NEW TWIST ON AN OLD FAVORITE! Art by the Yard is an exciting new venture the Kingwood Area Quilt Guild is doing to raise money for their charity work and scholarships. Art by the Yard will combine an online and live quilt auction. WHO WE ARE: Kingwood Area Quilt Guild provides thousands of quilts to shelters, hospitals, and families of lost and injured soldiers. We fund college scholarships for local art students, and are a regular provider of educational programs to local schools, civic organizations, and community events. ONLINE AUCTION: The online option provides bidders from around the country an excellent way to view traditional and contemporary fiber art, join in the fun of bidding on fabulous works of art by Texas women, and supporting their charity efforts. The on- line auction will run March 10th through April 17, 2008. Bidders may log on to the auction site www.KAQGAuction.cmarket.com to participate. LIVE AUCTION The items will then move to a live auction at 7:00 pm at the Nathaniel Center in Kingwood, Texas for an evening of wine, food, live music & fun. The live auction will feature a number of quilts that will not be available to the online auction as well as a silent auction of mini-quilts and fun packages. However, online bidders can still win. The bidder may set a maximum bid that the live auctioneer will hold in security. Please join us!
